CoverFx Foundation & Illuminating Powder

Guest blogger: Jenny S.

Hello there!

In this picture I'm wearing CoverFx's Compact Powder in "E50" and their Illuminating Loose Powder in "Platinum."

Interesting facts about the brand: CoverFx was started by two dermatologists, Lee Graff and Jenny Frankel. Their products were originally sold in hospital pharmacies for severe acne and rosacea, so you know it's safe for your skin! In fact, their anti-aging primer, "SkinPrep" is so nourishing that NYU's hospital uses it on burn victims. Wow, right?

CoverFx's Compact Powder is 40% pigmented, so a little goes a long way. This product won't clog pores and is gentle on acne-prone skin.

Use a mineral powder brush such as Sephora's "Mineral Powder Brush #45" or any Kabuki brush - These brushes give you medium to full coverage.

CoverFx's Illuminating Powder blurs out imperfections through their finally milled light reflecting particles and gives you a dewy glow. It comes in a bronze color too. I find that this product is superior than Bare Mineral's "Mineral Veil" because BM's shimmer particles are oversized and unnatural.

Advice: Use less product during the day and add more during the night. It'll make your face glow - especially in pictures!

Fun Fact: Angelina Jolie conceals her tattoos using full-coverage foundation to look flawless on screen.

Up There

Last night, BFD Productions hosted a series of documentary shorts. Among the many great ones, Up There was the one that personally touched me. It is about the diminishing industry of hand-painted advertising floating around the city. Sponsored by Stella Artois, filmmaker Malcolm Murray reveals the stories of these rare painters that live to perfect their love of artistry.

Please take a moment to watch this documentary.

Favorite Loose Powder

MAKE UP FOR EVER (MUFE)
HD Microfinish Powder
Guest blogger: Jenny S.

Hands down my top recommended loose powder. Made of 100% mineral silica, the powder should feel like silk on skin. Glide a finger over skin after application and you will understand what I mean by "silk."
White in the jar, the HD powder actually glides on transparent. ALL skin tones from porcelain to ebony will benefit from this product. Silica is superior in absorbing and controlling oil for hours meaning less touch-ups throughout the day. The micro-fine powder softens skin and is seamless on camera, saving users from the dreaded white-cast look.

**Secret trick** Apply powder on lips after applying application. Pat it directly on your lips and gently blend it in without smudging lipstick. Lipstick will stay put throughout the day. Thank me later :)

MAKE UP FOR EVER
HD Kabuki Brush

I recommend purchasing this brush along with the powder. MUFE specifically engineered this brush for their HD Microfinish powder.
Made of extremely soft and synthetic nylon bristles, the brush is best at applying loose powder to ensure the SMOOTHEST application possible. Bristles are black for the user's convenience. Users are able to see how much powder is being applied beforehand, considerably lowering product waste and over application. How thoughtful.

MUFE is Sephora exclusive, so head over to your nearest store. You will love this product.
